Probate Cost Calculator

Here’s how probate fees are calculated in California:

Attorney's Fees:

1. 3% of the first $1,000,000.

2. 2.5% of the next $3,000,000.

3. 2% of the next $5,000,000.

4. 1.5% of the next $10,000,000.

5. 1% of any remaining value beyond $10,000,000.

Executor's Fees:

1. 3% of the first $1,000,000.

2. 2.5% of the next $5,000,000.

3. 2% of the next $10,000,000.

4. 1.5% of any remaining value beyond $10,000,000.

Each portion is deducted from the remaining value of the estate until no value remains to be processed.
